PEPTIDE BOND
Peptide bond in formed between the amino group of one free amino acid and the carboxyl group of another one, or, between the amino group of one free amino acid and the carboxyl end of a polypeptide. This process is accompanied by generation of water. In such a manner a protein molecule is built of free amino acids through polycondensation.
