COMPETITIVE INHIBITOR
Competitive inhibitors make one of the types of reversible inhibitors. This is a molecule, which resembles a molecule of the substrate so much, that a ferment cannot distinguish them. Bonding of a competitive inhibitor with the active centre of the ferment causes decreasing of concentration of ferment-substrate complexes, and, therefore, decreasing of the reaction rate.
