AMINO ACID
Amino acid is a chemical compound with the following structure:
NH2 - CHR - COOH,
(R here is a radical). The atomic group -NH2 is called "amino group"; the group COOH is "carboxyl (group)". Amino acids serve as starting material for synthesis of proteins.
